MARINA MOLERO MALTBY

Principal

BA (Hons) LRAD, RAD RTS, DDE Imperial Classical Ballet

Marina trained locally in the South West before gaining her degree and teaching qualification at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in London. Marina also completed her Licentiate qualification giving her highly detailed knowledge of the RAD syllabus and Ballet teaching. Marina studied both Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and RAD Ballet, as well as Tap, Modern, Contemporary and Jazz. Within London she has worked with Dance Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, Move It, and Royal Academy of Dance projects such as Project B, Silver Swans, and RADiate. 

Marina spent many successful years teaching full-time in two established London Ballet Schools and gained valuable knowledge. During this time Marina also obtained the ISTD’s Diploma in Dance Education in Imperial Classical Ballet and qualified as an RAD Silver Swans Licensee to expand her teaching to older adults. Alongside her Registered Teacher Status, Marina also holds holds a current DBS, Public Liability Insurance and is Safeguarding trained, ensuring maximum professionalism and safety at all times.


Marina returned home to Plymouth with an ambition to encourage local children to engage with the arts; not only to benefit from the wide benefits of dance but to provide new opportunities and high quality Ballet Education. In 2020, Marina launched Ballet M Workshops in Plymouth encouraging children both with and without dance experience to come together to learn and perform during the school holidays. Since starting the Workshops have been hugely successful and grown very popular, expanding from 1 day courses, to week long camps. Marina is a positive, fun and compassionate teacher who is very excited to share her enthusiasm with all the dancers at Plymouth Ballet School.
